CLEARFIELD

CLEARFIELD

It was by chance that the herbicide tolerance of sunflowers was discovered. Sunflower plants not affected by an imidazolinone herbicide were discovered in a soybean field in 1996. These sunflowers had spontaneously developed a natural resistance to the herbicide. This prompted breeders to cross these naturally tolerant sunflowers with their inbred lines in order to introduce this characteristic into their genetic material.
This is how the Clearfield® technology stemmed.

BROAD-SPECTRUM, EARLY POST-EMERGENCE
WEED CONTROL

The Clearfield® technology is a breakthrough in sunflower weed control. Sunflower weed control programmes are usually performed after planting/pre-emergence with soil-applied herbicides. Thanks to the Clearfield® technology, farmers can control weeds after emergence in one pass, with a broad-spectrum herbicide controlling the majority of grasses and broadleaf weeds.

CLEARFIELD®  SOLUTION: HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Clearfield technology works thanks to the association of a variety of sunflower naturally tolerant to the Clearfield® herbicide and the Pulsar40® herbicide (Imazamox 40g/l). This technology is an effective weed control solution in areas of heavy infestations of difficult weeds such as Xanthium, Datura, Ambroisia, wild sunflower, Solanum and Mercurialis. It is also efficient when it comes to Broomrape. The Clearfield technology provides protection from early weed infestation as well as protecting your sunflower yield potential.
